AI Tools That Actually Work in Korean — a Verified List

Search for 'Korean AI tools' and you mostly get apps for learning the Korean language. This guide is about the opposite: tools for doing your actual work — writing, document processing, transcription, customer support — in Korean. Every entry below was checked against the vendor's official site or documentation.

'Supports Korean' Is Not a Quality Claim

Many products list Korean in a language dropdown, but a listing alone says nothing about output quality or documented behavior. Zendesk, for example, supports a Korean UI while its own docs state that generative replies in AI agents exclude Korean, Japanese, and Chinese. By contrast, ElevenLabs names Korean explicitly in its supported-language documentation for multilingual TTS, dubbing, and speech-to-text. The difference between a checkbox and a documented commitment is the core filter this list applies.

Writing and Translation

Wrtn is a Korea-first assistant and writing platform built on multiple foundation models, while Wordvice AI — from a Korea-founded editing company — ships a dedicated Korean grammar checker alongside its proofreading suite. For translation, DeepL documents Korean as a full source and target language in its developer docs, NAVER's Papago Plus adds document, image, and voice translation on a Korean-native engine, and Flitto offers enterprise translation APIs with a crowdsourced human fallback.

Document AI and OCR

Korean-language documents — mixed Hangul, layout-heavy forms, official paperwork — are where generic OCR pipelines degrade first. Upstage provides Document AI parsing and the Solar LLM family through a self-serve console with English docs, and Allganize's Alli platform answers questions over internal documents using Korean-specialized models. For form extraction, NAVER Cloud's CLOVA OCR documents Korean printed and handwritten text recognition, and Synap OCR from Synapsoft specializes in Korean document forms with key-value extraction.

Voice: Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech

Korean speech recognition is a domain where domestic vendors publish their own benchmarks rather than burying Korean in a language list. Daglo (ActionPower) transcribes meetings and lectures with a developer API, and Return Zero's RTZR STT builds its entire product line around Korean recognition accuracy. On the synthesis side, Typecast lists Korean among its premium-quality TTS languages and Supertone documents Korean voice quality as a founding strength, while Vrew applies Korean speech recognition to subtitle generation and text-based video editing.

Chatbots and Customer Support

For customer-facing AI, verify how the vendor documents Korean replies, not just the console language. CLOVA X runs on HyperCLOVA X, which NAVER states was trained on substantially more Korean data than comparable models, and Channel Talk's ALF agent launched from the Korean market with Korean-native docs and support. Among global platforms, Intercom Fin and Tidio Lyro both list Korean in their official supported-reply-language documentation, Sendbird (Korean-founded) maintains full Korean product pages for its AI agent, and maum.ai serves enterprise Korean conversational AI including contact-center deployments.

Tools: CLOVA X (클로바 X) · Channel Talk ALF (채널톡 알프) · Intercom Fin · Tidio Lyro · Sendbird AI Agent (센드버드) · maum.ai (마음에이아이)
